Page A Day™ Math
Workbook!
Introduction:
A little bit of math practice every
day of the summer can go along way in setting the stage
for a great start
to 7th grade! Research shows that some learning loss occurs
in all students during the summer. The loss can range from
one to three months. Some students can adjust quickly when
the new school year begins as they review previously learned
material. Other students will be at a serious disadvantage
because they just can’t recall past information quickly
enough. This book is designed to review and practice math
concepts and vocabulary in small daily doses. The students
who stick with their commitment to do a page a day will
do 500 problems over the course of the summer.
How to use this workbook:
Some students just love
workbooks and they will be happy to start working on
this one with no extra prodding from
mom or dad. Other students need incentives to get started,
and to stay with it. If your student falls into the
second group, you might consider using the contract and
rewards
system that is explained at the beginning of the book.
This of course is optional, but it’s a fun way
for the student to get recognition. Once you decide
whether or not to use the contract, the student can
simply start
working A Page A Day!
The student should be able to work
independently, completing each page, and self-checking
at www.TheDecadeClub.com.

type in the username and password that is written in on
the page that follows the contract. If your child has any
questions about any problems, Ms.
Math is just a click
away. Simply send her an email and she can help with the
problem.
Ten problems a day is very doable for any child, regardless
of how they feel about math. Kids who love math will probably
wish there were more problems, and those who struggle will
not feel overly burdened by the requirement to do 10 problems.
In either case, the benefit is obvious.
